Leading Metal Fabrication Company opts for Variable Speed!

A leading metal fabrication company based in Magherafelt has opted to install a new Hydrovane 22RS variable speed compressor. After several consultations with our technical team, they decided to install our RS version of Hydrovane due to the significant payback period of 3months on the capital difference. The system was commissioned in April 2009 and is now set to achieve savings of up to 30%.

This project is only step one of an ongoing energy saving incentive undergone by the Magherafelt company. Working in partnership, we will help identify and propose further projects to further lower running costs in compressed air generation!

 

Loughgall Meat Plant goes for Hydrovane once again!

A meat plant located in the picturesque town of Loughgall has decided to stay with Hydrovane and invest in a second HV07 compressor. However, after taking the advice of our technical team, they have decided this time round to install our “RS” version with variable speed technology. Our proposals were to run the existing HV07 fixed speed drive as the “base load” compressor, while meeting the fluctuating demand profile with a new HV07RS variable speed compressor. Not only does this reduce running costs, but also keeps capital expenditure to a minimum. The customer was also offered our unique 10years advanced warranty package on the new variable speed compressor free of charge and an extension to 10years on there existing HV07 fixed speed compressor as part of CompAir’s re-warrant scheme. Furthermore, the customer was pleased to learn that a grant worth £354.38 was set aside for the project. The installation was installed and commissioned in July 2009 and is running well!

Newtownards Based Window manufacturer switches to CompAir!

A leading window frame manufacturer who has recently relocated its premises in Newtownards have switched to CompAir on the advise of IPL. A new HV 37RS variable speed drive was installed in December 2009. Due to the positive relationship between our two companies, IPL accepted payment terms of 5 monthly instalments to pay off the compressor. The existing 40kw compressor was then relocated for backup purposes. Once again, this particular project proves the flexibility of IPL to need the demands and needs of our customers.

 

 

Meat Processing Plant secures Carbon Trust Funding for two Compressed Air projects!

With the help of our technical team, a Dungannon based Meat Processing plant has secured two interest free loans from the carbon trust worth £35,000 to assist in two energy saving projects in Two of their main sites. After the success of a similar project with IPL in their “Kilbeggen” site earlier in the year, enquiries were made about the potential to help lower operating costs in the two main sites in Dungannon.

Our compressed air data loggers were installed on both systems in February 2009 and showed significant savings by installing two 75kw VSD compressors. Between the two sites, we established an estimated saving of over £18,000 pa, which equates to over 38 tonnes of carbon pa. Furthermore, both compressors qualify for the “Assure Plus” warranty package with peace of mind for up to 44,000hrs. In addition to the success of the carbon trust loan scheme, IPL assisted in securing grant funding for a total of £7,283 to assist in the two projects. Both VSD compressors were installed in November 2009.

Dunmurry Based Packaging Company installed new Hydrovane!

A leading packaging company has installed our new HV 22RS Variable Speed compressor after several consultations from our technical team raising awareness about the potential to save electricity from their existing compressor installation. The existing installation was an old modulating vane compressor which utilizes up to 90% of full load kw. After analysising the amp readings from our data logging devices, we noticed that the compressor never dropped below 25amps. For a 22kw compressor, this indicates the potential for significant savings. The system was so inefficient that the excess heat generated was burning off any condensate so there was no requirements for an air dryer.

An application for grant aid worth £571 was also successful in funding the project and is now registered under Hydrovanes advanced warranty programme for 48,000hrs. The HV 22 RS with new air dryer was installed in July 2009.

Renewable Energy Specialists slash operating costs by 63%

A Dungannon based company specialising in renewable fuels from organic waste has installed a new Hydrovane HV30RS Variable Speed compressor in December 2009 and is set to reduce their running costs by a massive 111,000kw/hrs/yr or £7,768/yr. This is a projected saving of 63% on current operating costs.

On signing a new 2 year service agreement with IPL, our service engineers identified an excessively high number of idle cycles during a routine service visit. A data logging of the system was carried out urgently to help identify existing running costs. Our technical team were quick to propose a suitable compressor to fit demand profile and the potential for massive savings. It is projected that the new HV30RS compressor will pay for itself in just 1.49 years on electricity savings alone. The massive reduction in operating costs is one of IPL’s most successful projects to date!

Pomeroy Feeding Mill set to save 43%

A leading animal feeds mill located near Pomeroy is all set to reduce their electricity bill on compressed air by a massive 43%. Our experienced sales team raised the possibility of significant savings through a reduction in compressed air running costs.

After initial discussions our technical team put together a package for reducing these excessive costs. Our sophisticated logging equipment was installed on to the existing installation to identify costs. After processing and submitting the report it was identified that the installation of a new Hydrovane 22RS compressor would achieve the greatest savings while keeping capital costs to a minimum. With its market leading advanced 10yr warranty programme the HV22RS was installed with the potential payback of 1.9yrs. The new installation has the potential to save the customer over £4,000pa and reduce carbon emissions by over 20 tonnes! As well as this, IPL secured a loan from the carbon trust for over £8,500 and an NIE grant of over £950 to assist in the project.

 

Leading Glass manufacturer secures Carbon Trust Loan!

With the help of IPL, a leading glass manufacturer in Lisburn has secured a loan from the carbon trust for over £8,000 and grant funding for £670 to assist in there compressed air project which has the potential to save no less than 16 tonnes of carbon pa. Concerns were raised by IPL after an initial site inspection about the excessively high running costs and the potential to significantly reduce kw/hrs.

Using our sophisticated data logging equipment our technical team identified existing running costs and put together the best package for reducing these costs. After installation of a new Hydrovane HV 30RS in Feb. 09, the Lisburn based company are now saving close to 30,000kw/hrs/yr or over £3,500pa. Chief maintenance manager Robert Morrison says “the project has been very successful from start to finish, a very professional job”.
